OSHA Safe + Sound Week at MidAmerica Nazarene University

A.L. Huber Participates in OSHA Safe + Sound Week

Our teams actively participated in OSHA Safe + Sound Week from August 12 to 16. Throughout the week, Marcus Cody, our Director of Safety, conducted toolbox talks, emphasizing the importance of using Job Hazard Analysis sheets daily with our crews. He stressed that this document is dynamic and can change. Marcus also provided examples of the Hierarchy of Controls for each project site and subcontractor.

When we detect a hazard on the job site using our Job Hazard Analysis, our team can follow the Hierarchy of Controls to ensure the site’s safety:

  1. Elimination – Completely removing the hazard
  2. Substitution – Using a safer material or process
  3. Engineering Controls – Implementing preventatives to keep the hazard away from workers
  4. Administrative Controls – Changing the way work is performed
  5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Utilizing clothing or devices for protection

We concluded #OSHASafeAndSoundWeek with a focus on safety as our top priority. We appreciate all our teams across all jobsites for showcasing their commitment to maintaining a safety culture. At A.L. Huber, we remain dedicated to prioritizing safety in all our endeavors because a safety culture is a culture of success
