Custom Truck & Equipment is a large industrial facility built to assemble and service large trucks, parts, and equipment. This project was a unique opportunity to rehabilitate an Armco Steel Company Building erected in the 1930s and abandoned in the 1980s. This substantial steel structure is 60,000 sq. ft. – 55’ tall. The chief safety challenge was working 55 feet in the air and installing new roofs, walls, cranes, and MEP while elevated. Throughout the project, we had 21 lifts inside the building and four outside working simultaneously. A.L. Huber led the integrated project delivery team, which completed the project on time and within budget.
The project won the 2016 PDCA Award for Industrial Interior.
