Farmers Bank & Trust is a 100-year-old, family-owned bank headquartered in Great Bend, Kansas. When the owners decided to open their first branch in the Kansas City area, they teamed up with A. L. Huber. Built as the feature corner building at the Lionsgate Office Centre, this two-story building integrates the architecture of its surroundings and acts as the development’s marquee. Using a stone base, stucco wall, and a low-pitched roof with a larger overhang gives the bank a Prairie-Style feel. The interior is accented with the stone used on the exterior and is designed with a blend of shapes, curves, and earth-tone colors to give the bank a warm, inviting ambiance. The millwork and trim are knotty alder, a unique wood that provides a striking counterpoint to the colors and textures used in the interior finish.
