A.L. Huber led the design-build partnership to build an 11,420 sq. ft. LEED-certified Service Center for Missouri Gas Energy in St. Joseph. MGE has occupied the property for over 100 years. The new facility replaces outdated buildings that were removed from the property. The new service center sits on 5.1 acres and includes offices, a warehouse, and a meter shop. Thirty-nine panels rated at 8.280 watts serve as a renewable energy source, and office air-quality and interior lighting controls were installed. Many sustainable design and construction practices were incorporated throughout the facility to ensure it met LEED Gold requirements.
