SPEC Building Materials Corp. is expanded its industrial headquarters in Kansas City, Kansas, with a roughly 40,000 sq. ft. addition. The new facility features 5,000 sq. ft. of office space, accommodating approximately 15 employees, while the rest will serve as a supply house for siding, roofing, and window materials. A.L. Huber’s scope of work also included the construction of a 10,000 sq. ft. canopy to cover the exterior space around the building.
A.L. Huber’s involvement extends beyond the building’s construction, with a focus on enhancing functionality and efficiency. Recognizing SPEC’s frequent heavy-duty deliveries, A.L. Huber replaced the asphalt lot with concrete to better accommodate the traffic. Additionally, to alleviate truck congestion, the campus’s main entries and exits were redesigned to establish a one-way flow, ensuring smoother operations. The office portion of the new facility will feature a drive-up area where customers can conveniently place their orders, reflecting a commitment to customer service and accessibility. Through meticulous planning and innovative solutions, A.L. Huber aims to deliver a high-quality facility that not only meets SPEC’s current needs but also sets the stage for future growth and success.
