The 26,000 sq ft new sanctuary building is the fourth phase of construction on the Redeemer Presbyterian / Westminster Academy campus. This congregation sought to build a church that would reflect the worship style of their community; the exterior use of traditional forms and materials such as a heavy stone base, ornamental brick, and large arched windows helped the church accomplish this goal. This dramatic structure is a hybrid, combining conventional steel systems for floor structure and flat roof areas and pre-engineered systems for the tall, wide, clear-span sanctuary space. The interior features a tall ceiling that draws the eye upward through a large ellipse that opens into a well-lit barrel vault, imparting to the congregation an awe-inspiring worship experience. The towering steeple is already a landmark in Johnson County, soaring to 165 feet.
