The Wayside Waifs project included two areas of construction, which were phased onsite to provide ongoing operations of the facility. One construction area included an extension to the existing facility for the Humane Education Center (HEC). The HEC building provides multi-purpose training and meeting spaces as well as additional office and maintenance space. The other construction area included a stand-alone Canine Behavior Center (CBC) building designed and constructed for shy, fearful, and high-energy pets to offer behavior modification programs. The building provides kennels, activity space, training space, and office spaces
